Dr. Michael Heeg, M.D.

Dr. Heeg attended medical school at Temple University with his ophthalmology residency at the Tulane University, School of Medicine. He completed a two year vitro-retinal fellowship at the University of Kentucky. Since then, he has specialized in the medical and surgical management of vitreo-retinal diseases. While on faculty at Case Western Reserve University Hospital, Dr. Heeg was one of the principal investigators in the AREDS II National Eye Institute study of high dose vitamin therapy for macular degeneration.

Dr. Heeg is a certified member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the American Medical Association.  He enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, and also speaks fluent Spanish.
